Pat Quinn was diagnosed with ALS on March 8, 2013, a month after his 30th birthday. Committed to raising awareness of ALS, Pat and his family founded Quinn for the Win to advocate for those battling the disease and to raise funds for his own care as well as ALS research.

Shortly after he was diagnosed with ALS, Pat and his wife, Jenn, visited the team at the ALS Therapy Development Institute. He was recognized as a Young Faces of ALS ambassador and was introduced to fellow PALS, Pete Frates. Together with Pete and his family, Pat led the creation of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge during the summer of 2014, which has been hailed as the most successful viral social media fundraising effort in history. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge raised $220 million for ALS nonprofit organizations across the globe in its first year. Since then, Pat also has travelled extensively trumpeting a call to action, "Every August Until a Cure."

Quinn for the Win is an important Global Affiliate of ALS.net. Pat and Jenn have been helping to drive the global conversation about ALS through the media and speaking engagements. In addition, they have raised significant funding for ALS research through events such as Quinntoberfest, the Young Faces of ALS National Corntoss Challenge, and the White Coat Affair.
